Ever since picking up these awesome smoking slippers from JCPenny last week, I've been really into sophisticated, stylish shoes with a pop of personality. Here are some styles I'm really loving - which one is your favorite?

Caught the tail end.

Shirt: Thrifted | Skirt: Thrifted | Boots: Payless | Scarf: A'gaci | Bracelets: Self-made

It's almost the end of January. Hopefully, before too long, temperatures will rise and I can shed some of these layers. I was also hoping that with the end of January, I would have, for the first time, successfully made it through cold & flu season without catching one of the viruses flying around me. Alas - it was not to be.

First, my boss had laryngitis. Then, my co-worker had pneumonia. In an office of three, my odds were already bad, but I thought I was in the clear. Then - cue the ominous music - my husband caught a cold. And now here I am, three days later, sniffling and coughing and all around symptom-y. I'll be happy when this cold, and this cold season, are far behind me.

Black, White, and Gray

Shirt: H&M | Jacket: Ross | Jeans: F21 | Flats: Gordman's | Clutch: A'gaci

I was going to title this post "Shades of Gray" but then suddenly remembered why that sounded familiar to me - Oops! This was the perfect outfit for lunch with friends at our favorite Chinese place followed by an afternoon of lounging around and watching movies (Indiana Jones, anyone?).

When I found this jacket at Ross I was immediately drawn to the bold black & white print. The white detail is slightly raised which gives the pattern a great three-dimensional quality. I decided to pair it today with these cozy gray jeans and a fun shirt for a great lazy Sunday outfit.

Winter Weekend & A Little About Me

Coat: A'gaci | Jeans: Wal-Mart | Boots: JCPenny | Shirt: Thrifted | Necklace: Gift

Well, first things first! I'm Lindsey and I live in a small town in Central Illinois (read - not the fashion capital of the world). I'm originally from this area and moved to Chicago for a few years when I was 19, but my then-fiance and I moved back to our hometown when we got married.

I tried having a blog while I was living in Chicago but could never really get into it. Even after I stopped blogging I continued to read my favorite fashion & personal style blogs, and lately I've had the itch to try again. Not to mention, I've fallen into a rut, stylistically, and I hope that having a place and reason for sharing my daily outfits will push me to be not only more creative, but also more purposeful in the way I dress.

A new year, a new blog, a new outlook - here's to all the good things to come!

Clutch Crush: Geometric

Clutch Crush: Geometric
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

Lately I've found myself drawn to clutches with bold, geometric shapes and lines. I feel like these clutches would add the perfect amount of badass-ery to any outfit.

What do you think? The right amount of edge, or too harsh?
